A pumpkin paradise this autumn

23rd October 2007 Print
A pumpkin paradise this autumn Willows Farm Village, at London Colney, near St Albans, is celebrating autumn with a fabulous Pumpkin Festival, which runs until October 31. Over 10,000 pumpkin seeds have been planted by farm workers Peter and Walter, who have over 50 years of farming experience between them and still use a traditional planting machine.

Keen pumpkin pickers can select their own pumpkin from the giant field, which they can then either take home or create a pumpkin masterpiece to enter into a daily carving competition at 3pm.

Farm Village manager Alison Hegarty said: “The Pumpkin Festival is a wonderful annual event which the children really look forward to. There are arts and crafts in the marquee, as well a competition to guess how many pumpkin seeds, and of course the popular Pumpkin Hunt.”

Willows Farm Village is open between 10.00am and 5.30pm and is located on Coursers Road, just off junction 22 of the M25 near London Colney.
