Date announced for ‘08 National Forest Wood Fair
Following the massive success of this year’s National Forest Wood Fair at Beacon Hill Country Park, the date has been set for the 2008 event. The fourth National Forest Wood Fair will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 25 August.3,000 people enjoyed this year’s Fair, with over 70 demonstrators and exhibits set beneath the craggy summit of the beacon, with panoramic views out over the growing National Forest.
“We are delighted to be able to announce the date at an early stage,” said Simon Greenhouse for the National Forest Company. “The craftspeople and demonstrators are keen to return and add the event to their busy schedules. We are building a large audience for this popular event, and visitors can now put the date in their diaries.”
Beacon Hill Country Park lies within the ancient Forest of Charnwood and is close to the attractive village of Woodhouse Eaves, just five minutes drive from Junctions 22 or 23 of the M1. The Country Park, owned and managed by Leicestershire County Council, is just one of the many visitor attractions across the three counties that make up The National Forest.
The Wood Fair is run by the National Forest Company and Leicestershire County Council.
