Follow in the footsteps of Sense & Sensibility heroines Stay in a smart 17th century cottage at Hartland and follow in the footsteps of Jane Austen’s Sense & Sensibility heroines as featured in the current BBC1 adaptation, which was filmed largely on the Hartland Abbey estate, North Devon.

Once the village sweet shop, the cottage sleeps six priced from £209 a week during February; the garden at Hartland Abbey also opens on Sunday 10 and 17 February when visitors can see superb snowdrop displays and walk the woodland path to the beach where the fictitious Dashwood family’s cottage is located.

For cottage details visit Helpfulholidays.com, searching for ref K8. There’s also a larger, 16th century thatched house (pictured) with an indoor heated pool and games room in the nearby village of Stoke sleeping ten priced from £695pw (ref K3).
