Travel to 6 Nations Rugby for less than the cost of a match ticket

Travel to 6 Nations Rugby for less than the cost of a match ticket This year’s Six Nations rugby tournament promises to be one of the most exciting ever – with last year’s winners, France, expected to seek revenge for a lacklustre World Cup in defending the title and World Cup runners-up England aiming to storm through and take it from them.

Rugby fans from across Europe who want to see their heroes in action at away matches can get there by coach for less than the price of a match ticket in Dublin or Paris by taking a Eurolines coach.

Eurolines, part of the National Express group, will be running coaches from London to all the vital matches and tickets are already going fast to Dublin and Paris where some of the most significant matches of the tournament will take place.

Managing Director John Gilbert said: “Many fans have come to realise they can get to somewhere like Paris easily by coach. There were huge numbers of fans who travelled with us to the World Cup in Paris when we had more than three times our regular number of coaches to cope with demand and we expect our services will be busy once again for this Six Nations championship.”

Key matches which can be reached by fans travelling from London Victoria on Eurolines coaches include:

• France v England – February 23 – Stade de France, Paris
• Ireland v Scotland - February 23 – Croke Park, Dublin
• Ireland v Wales – March 8 – Croke Park, Dublin

Fans are being advised to book their seats early if they can – even without a ticket for the match there is still a great weekend in prospect including watching the match in the atmosphere of a local bar.

Tickets to Paris cost from £37 return and to Dublin from £39 return (all including booking fees). Coaches leave daily from London Victoria at 8am with Channel crossings by Eurotunnel or P&O ferries, arriving in Paris around 4pm.

Eurolines Managing Director John Gilbert said: “It’s a hassle-free way to travel and journey time by coach is comparable to the time taken to fly to the same destinations if you take into account the time it takes to get to the airport, early check-ins and taken to get to the airport, early check-ins and security queues.

“Added to that, travelling by coach is by far one of the greenest ways to travel and fans can significantly reduce their carbon footprint – as well as getting to the match on time.”

And as an added bonus, both destinations offer great shopping opportunities so fans can take along travel companions who want to make the most of the shops while the match is on.

Shoppers will be able to make the most of Eurolines’ generous luggage allowance so there’s plenty of room to bring home some bargains.
