A cultural 2008 for North East England

Culture10, the festivals and events arm of destination marketing agency NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) launches its 2008 cultural programme, packed with unique world-class events and festivals across North East England throughout the year.

Highlights for 2008 include EAST’08, a dynamic celebration of contemporary Asian culture running throughout the year; EVOLUTION (May) one of the first and biggest dates in the music calendar; BAMBUCO (July) the construction during the annual SummerTyne festival of a brand-new bridge spanning the River Tyne – made of bamboo; an inspiring new CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL (November) including a celebration of an award-winning author from the region, David Almond; and the dazzling annual WINTER FESTIVALS (Nov-Dec) in NewcastleGateshead and Northumberland.
