Discover Bordeaux with the Ecole Du Vin   Bordeaux’s Ecole du Vin has announced the dates for three new courses at the wine school in 2008. Held in the heart of Bordeaux, each of these courses provides the opportunity to learn more about Bordeaux wines.

Classes are taught in English by local wine experts, both in the purpose-built tasting rooms of the Bordeaux Wine Council in the centre of the historic city and at some of the prestigious Châteaux in the region.

Bordeaux wine tasting, from A to Z
A two-day course, giving a complete overview of the Bordeaux region: aromas, appellations, classifications, grape varieties, flavours and soils. This training course will enable you to seize all the richness and the diversity of Bordeaux wines through tasting a range of appellations and by creating your own blend using different Bordeaux grape varieties. As well as sessions in the Ecole du Vin, students will also visit one of Bordeaux’s impressive Châteaux for a tasting dinner. Price: 350€
Dates: 16-17 May, 25-26 July, 17-18 October 2008

Explore the secrets of Bordeaux wines!
A two-day course to improve your tasting and enrich your palate. This course offers you the chance to learn more about the wines of Bordeaux through blind tastings, food and wine matching sessions, lessons about the appellations and tips on selecting, storing and serving wine. Price: 335€
Dates: 18-19 May, 27-28 July, 19-20 October 2008

The Grands Crus of Bordeaux (Advanced)
Available for those who have completed either of the above courses, this three-day course takes you through the vineyards to discover four of the prestigious soil types of Bordeaux: Médoc, Sauternes, Graves and Saint-Emilion. You will learn about the classifications and appellations, both in the classroom and by walking amongst the different vines. Tastings and lunches in the vineyards are included on the course. Price: 600€

In addition to these intensive courses, the Ecole du Vin also offers a two-hour course which is an introduction to Bordeaux and its wines for just 25€ (available from June-September). The Bordeaux Wine School can organise tailored courses for 1-24 people.
