Pesto, pesto and more pesto!

It is time for The World Pesto Competition 2008 in Genoa, Italy. For the second Pesto Championship, 100 competitors from all over the world will challenge each other to win the title of the World Championship.

Like in the first edition, the competition will be open to everyone, cooking dilettantes or professionals, otherwise the occasion is there to observe demonstrations and to taste traditional Pesto.

The second Pesto Championship will be held in Genoa’s historical Palazzo Ducale, Saturday the 19th of April 2008. 100 competitors coming from all over the world will make Genoese pesto exclusively with a mortar and using only authentic ingredients. As it was in the first edition, the Championship is open to both professional and amateur cooks.

To celebrate, The Italian Connection has put together a series of packages which will allow you to go along to the competition as an observer, you will be invited to the pesto party in the evening and there are packages which will allow you to savour some of that Ligurian hospitality.
