Discover the magic of Puccini opera on a four night opera festival break (7-11 August) to Italy led by award winning journalist and well known opera critic and director Adrian Mourby.Organised by The Travellers’ club (thetravellersclub.com) and bookable through Prestige Holidays, the tour will be limited to 16-20 people and cost just £875 per person.
The PuccinI Opera Festival package includes: return flights to Pisa, transfers, four nights BB accommodation in the Hotel Universo in medieval Lucca, three good opera tickets and guided sightseeing.
The annual festival takes place in the lake side town of Torre del Lago where Puccini wrote three of the most popular operas ever written: La Boheme, Tosca and Madama Butterfly.
Travellers participating in the tour will see Tosca, Edgar and Turandot. Adrian Mourby will talk about Puccini and the operas before the performances and encourage discussion on the productions afterwards. In addition, there will be the chance to tour the spectacular new open air theatre where the operas are being performed and enjoy visits to the artistic & historical sights of Pisa and Lucca including places which played an important part in Puccini’s life.

Adrian Mourby, winner of the 2007 Puccini Award for Journalism, is an opera critic and has directed opera at a number of festivals. He is also a well known writer of opera notes for festival programmes and has recently written the AA Guide to Venice.
