A historic experience in Austria Learn to drive an historic carriage at an elegant 4 star country estate in northern Austria. The course is for people with little or no experience and consists of 5 driving lessons with one or two horses, with theory lessons given over a cocktail in the stylish piano bar.

The instructor is a charming former driving tournament champion who will share his passion for his fine collection of historic carriages.

Free time to stroll along the banks of the river Danube, have a round of golf, fish in the Estate's own lake or just relax in the spa. Riding also available. Sociable gourmet dinners in the award-winning 'hunting lodge' vaulted restaurant. Available 11-18th April and 23 - 30th April 2008. Couples and singles welcome. No experience necessary.

Beautifully-restored privately-owned medieval castle set in its own grounds surrounded by un-spoilt majestic landscape. Here is a little-known place where luxury, sophistication and tradition co-exist in perfect harmony. Day trips to visit a gala performance of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna can also be arranged and the Historic town of Linz is just 30 minutes away.

Half-board accommodation per person, based on two sharing a double room with return airport transfer to Linz and riding program where stated. Price excludes flights and insurance. Holidays can generally be of any duration and start on any day (except where specified). Free use of the M-SPA and the garden pool.

Driving course: £1068 for 7 nights. 5 day course with 5 practical and 4 theory sessions. Single £1168

For novices or intermediate drivers, with one or two horses with Marathon carriages, dressage carriages and training carriages, both two wheeler and four wheeler. The novice driving programme includes learning the correct way to harness the horse and putting to, correct use of reins to be able to control and steer the horse in a two wheel carriage, and very importantly, safety and proper procedure in traffic.

Theory includes a session on first-aid for horses with the resident Estate vet, comprehensive understanding of harness and its usage, and important points about carriages. No prior riding experience is necessary to learn how to drive a carriage.

Short Driving course: £743 for 5 nights: 4 day course includes 6 driving lessons and 3 theory lessons. £800 for single room.
