Enjoy all the fun of the fair in Spain

Enjoy all the fun of the fair in Spain Set to explode in to life on April 12th 2008 is the Festival of Seville, one of the most well known events in Spain. If you fancy running away to the fair this Spring there’s still time to book one of the many hotels in Seville, conveniently collected together by Go2Spain.co.uk.

Established for over 150 years, people come from across the country and even the world to be a part of this riot of sensual stimulation. For the Spanish it is an excuse to dress up in fabulous traditional clothes, with women in brightly coloured gypsy dresses and men sporting short jackets, tight trousers and boots of the caballeros. The Feria is a time set aside purely for pleasure as most businesses are closed for the duration of the week long festivities. Whichever hotel in Seville you choose, whether on a shoestring budget or determined to treat yourself to a touch of luxury, you’ll need to book early to get the best deals.

With so much to see and do as the colourful spectacle winds its way around the orange tree-lined streets, you will need to book early to secure cheap accommodation. One area to consider when browsing the dozens of Seville hotels hand-picked for Feria week by Go2Spain is the Real Maestranza. During the day the locals ride around on horseback and carriages to see and be seen while bullfights take place daily each afternoon.

At night, you can visit the huge funfair or make your way into one of the thousand or so casetas which are, depending on size, either tents or grand marquees set up by various groups and organisations. Watch live performances, partake in flamenco dancing and singing or share a drink and watch the festivities. Each caseta is brightly decorated and usually open until 7am so reserving a hotel room nearby is an absolute must!

Set close to the Guadalquivir River and just ten minutes walk from the bullring is the Confortel Puerta de Triana, one of the many hotels in Seville listed in Go2Spain. Renovated in 2007 this modern, efficient hotel has 68 tastefully decorated rooms (4 with wheelchair access) and incorporates air-conditioning, 24-hour reception, internet and WLAN access, room service and king-size beds. Room only prices start at a very reasonable £76.

For those that want to be close to the action, but not too close, Go2Spain recommends the Sacristia de Santa Ana. Immaculately renovated from a former 18th century sacristy this hotel is packed full of character and classical style with a stunning interior court yard and large, airy rooms. With all mod-cons the Sacrista de Santa Ana, at a starting price of £82, breakfast excluded, is a perfect place to combine a romantic getaway with a trip to the Feria.

Those looking for the hotel in Seville with the biggest out and out wow factor need go no further than the Eme Fusion Hotel, as seen on Go2Spain.co.uk. As imposing as the cathedral it sits next to, this establishment at the heart of the commercial and financial centre of Seville is a triumph of contemporary and Andalucian styles, with a large terrace nestled in borders of fragrant lemon and orange trees.

Although it sits just a stone’s throw from the Feria, it may be tempting not to leave as there is so much on offer here. As well as a spa, gym and indoor and outdoor pools there’s also a wide range of restaurants designed to tickle even the most discerning of taste buds. Restaurant Santos offers gourmet dining with a Mediterranean flavour and turns into a lounge bar during the early hours of the morning, while Japo serves high quality Japanese food. For pasties, fruity snacks, organic treats and Sunday brunch there’s 20 Pasos and for a more traditional experience the tapas bar, Milagritos, can provide.

Whatever your budget, Go2Spain can help you find your perfect hotel in Seville at any time of the year. For more info go to Go2Spain.co.uk.
