Fright Nights to host an exclusive Solstice weekend

19th May 2008 Print
Fright Nights to host an exclusive Solstice weekend Fright Nights, the UK’s leading ghost hunt specialist, is hosting its first exclusive Solstice weekend with David Wells, the former ‘Most Haunted’ medium from 20 – 22 June. The event, which takes place at the notoriously haunted but picturesque location of Milton Hill House in Oxfordshire, will introduce guests to Wicca and Witchcraft including a Solstice ritual in the grounds of the house.

David, also an astrologer for now magazine and Living TV, has been a tutor of astrology, Qabalah and spirituality for many years. Over the course of the weekend David will share his own experiences and knowledge into this ancient and mystical way of life with guests.

Guests can take part in four workshops which will introduce Wicca, a Pagan Witchcraft tradition and the Qabalah, an aspect of Jewish mysticism. The workshops have been designed to help guests understand more about the world around them and how to use magical tools as well as creating their own wand. All meals are provided including a BBQ on the Friday evening with live folk music.

Early on Saturday, guests are invited to attend the ‘Meeting of the Dawn’ ritual to welcome the day and watch the sunrise. A group meditation will take place on the Saturday evening to seal the energy and build intent for the months ahead.

Milton Hill House, a Georgian manor house, is renowned for its paranormal activity and has a dark and varied history. The property has played host to a number of royal visitors such as Peter the Great, Emperor of Russia and King William III. Over the years many have heard unexplained footsteps and doors opening. Others have smelt strong lavender perfume in empty corridors. More chillingly, many have claimed to have heard the sound of children in the middle of the night.

David Wells stated “I am delighted to be working with Fright Nights on the first of many weekends designed to celebrate sacred days in the calendar as well as an opportunity to learn more about the magik that surrounds us every day. I am looking forward to next year when both the spring and the summer Equinox and both Solstice will take their place in an exciting year of learning and practical ritual”.

Martin Jeffrey, Director of Fright Nights stated, “We are delighted to be hosting our first Solstice weekend with David, particularly at Milton Hill House, a place of serenity and spirituality. It’s also an added bonus that Milton Mill House is notoriously haunted. The weekend is full of activity but still designed to be a personal experience where guests are surrounded by people with similar beliefs”.

Tickets, which cost £250 per person, including all meals and accommodation, can be booked online at Frightnights.co.uk. Please note the weekend event is for over 18’s only. Places are limited and early booking is advised.
