Top female golfers return to France for Evian Masters

29th May 2008 Print
The Evian Masters tournament is a world class event that guarantees the presence of the international golfing elite. 22 nations were represented at the 2007 Evian Masters. 2008 will be even more international, featuring a Chinese player for the first time. The best women players in the world will all line up behind the world number one player, Lorena Ochoa.

This tournament dominates the world hierarchy, just behind the US Open with prize money of $3 million in 2007.

This worldwide event will take place at the Evian Royal Resort which provides a top of the range championship course.

Situated between the Lake and Mountains on the left bank of Lake Geneva, the Evian Masters Golf club lays out its 18 holes in a beautiful environment of a wooded 60 hectare park overlooking the lake.

This year, the course has been embellished with a more strategic approach to certain holes.

The event provides also a major date for the international elite of young golfers under the age of 14, with the Evian Masters Juniors Cup initiated in 2007 representing 15 countries.

Today, evianmasters.com is a worldwide women’s golf portal offering a community space with blogs and news. It is also the showcase and federator site for golf at Evian and goes live during the event.

The sponsors club of the 15th Evian Masters 2008 includes major brands with Rolex, Evian, Lacoste, Bouygues Telecom, IBM, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Renault, Air France, General Council of Haute Savoie and a new partner, Société Générale.
