Korean arts and culture set to take over Trafalgar Square On Sunday 08th June 2008 between 1-7pm, Trafalgar Square in London will be transformed into the sights, sounds and smells of Korea for one day only. London’s most famous landmark will play host to a celebration of Korean Arts and Culture. ‘Dano’ is celebrated when ‘Yang’ energy is thought to be at its highest. Korean women traditionally treat their hair with iris extracts and men show off their power through wrestling (Ssireum). This year DANO falls on Sunday 08th June.

Stalls selling authentic Korean Food will open at noon – starting an afternoon of festivities. Try your hand at making traditional Korean fans or try traditional paper folding. A full programme of traditional and contemporary Korean music and dance led by musical troupe 'Taroo' and a performance by ecological performance group ‘Noridan’ and Lee Chul Jin, will ensure an action packed afternoon. Between 4-6pm enjoy listening to Jazz by the 'Guy Barker Quintet' and then start the evening with some Rock music from 'YB' and 'Tomikita'.
