Colourful Eastbourne museum gripped by tennis fever

The painting, depicting two children eager to watch the top class tennis, marks the start of the week long International Women’s Open this weekend and leads the way into a hidden treasure trove of memories.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said “Eastbourne is well loved for its beautiful seafront, bumper Bandstand programme and packed events calendar, but the Musgrave Collection presents something truly unique. Visitors to Eastbourne will spend hours inside taking in all of the art that marks various points in George’s life. From the drawing by the Father he never knew, to one of his most recent paintings showing George as ‘A speck of dust’; visitors will be intrigued by the hundreds of tales George has to tell.”
George has led a remarkable life and the paintings housed inside the Musgrave Collection and hidden by its standard shop front tell the story of everything the artist has achieved.
From his invention of single yellow lines, to his bid to be an Olympic swimmer; from designing model toys in the 50’s and 60’s to unravelling a lost Bible story, George talks proudly and enthusiastically to anyone that enters the door.
Featured earlier this year in Art World magazine, George is keen to show off his unique collection to Eastbourne visitors and has received feedback from people across the world.
Situated less than 5 minutes’ walk from the seafront, the Musgrave Collection, Seaside Road, is open five days a week from 10am – 4.30pm and is completely free to look round.
