Freestyle bike tour set to impress in Eastbourne

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said “We are really excited to welcome back the Animal bike tour to Eastbourne Extreme this year and I’m sure visitors will be amazed by their bold mountain and dirt bike tricks. Extreme promises a bumper line up this weekend with plenty of action on land, sea and in the air. From Thundercat power boats to acrobatic free runners the Urban Shadows, crowds are in for an adrenaline-fuelled weekend with music and fairground rides providing something for everyone.”
Local extreme sportsmen are getting in on the extreme act too, with the Eastbourne Personal Watercraft Association demonstrating their Jet Ski skills and making waves off the Sussex shore.
Plus Eastbourne Skate Association are returning with an entertaining mix of Slalom, High Jump, Skate Basketball and Limbo competitions. Competitors will come from as far as Le Havre, France, as the Eastbourne team partner up with Le Havre City Council.
Visitors will also get the chance to try their hand at an extreme sport themselves with taster lessons held in windsurfing and dinghy sailing courtesy of Spray Watersports. While novices paddle out into Eastbourne seas, the more experienced can try out a selection of the latest windsurfing and stand up paddle surfing equipment from Starboard and Tushingham.
This year, event organisers, Eastbourne Borough Council, have teamed up with Fort Fun theme park to up the energy factor with some new extreme-inspired rides brought in.
And to really get the crowd in the festival spirit, there’ll be live entertainment from the Ready Steady Glow Extreme band stage. Kicking off at 11am, there’ll be quick changes between sets with 10 different bands lined up to provide music all weekend.
