Sample the real Buddhist culture with a trip to Korea

Sample the real Buddhist culture with a trip to Korea In a small wooded area, no more than 15 minutes drive from Incheon’s state-of-the-art International Airport, is the small and tranquil temple of ‘Yonggungsa’ founded in AD670 during the reign of King Munmu of the Shilla Dynasty. The temple is home to the ‘Zelkova’ tree dating back some 1300 years and a statue of Buddha that stretches 11 metres into the sky.

During the month of August visitors to Incheon Airport who have time to kill can visit ‘Yonggungsa’ on a 1-hour temple tour for free. This is an ideal way to sample Korea’s traditional Buddhist culture and take a deep breath of fresh air in a very peaceful environment.

Tours operate daily at 09.00, 11.00 & 15.00 with transfers included. Bookings can be made at the Transit Tour desk within the Airport.
