27th August 2008 Print
Wine and dinosaurs stomp into Delaware The Delaware Museum of Natural History’s Wine & Dinosaurs festival returns on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from noon-4 p.m., featuring specialty wines and beers from around the world. All proceeds from this indoor/outdoor event benefit the museum and its mission to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery.

Wine & Dinosaurs admission includes sampling of fine wines, beers, and tantalizing hors d'oeuvres. Delaware's Total Wine & More and local vintners will provide a variety of wines and tasting notes about different vintages. Flying Dog, Magic Hat, Dogfish Head, and other breweries will serve various distinctive beers. Wine and beer tasters can pair their beverages with cuisine dished up by Gallagher & Gallagher the Caterers.

The museum's wooded back lawn will serve as a picturesque backdrop for live music by Big Package and dancing on the outdoor patio. An array of silent auction items will feature artwork, theater tickets, and other tempting purchases. Visitors can take a break from "Wine & Dine-osauring" to view the museum's fascinating galleries.

"This year's Wine & Dinosaurs will be a fun, lively afternoon with delicious wine, great beer, and fantastic food," Director of Development Dawn Swartout said. "And the best part is, the festival supports the museum's many quality programs such as summer camp and Dino Days."

Wine & Dinosaurs is sponsored by the Law Office of Amanda Krasinski-Konyk, Conectiv Energy, Cover & Rossiter, Weymouth and Smith Insurance, Total Wine & More, Delaware Today, Out & About, and McClafferty Printing.

Advance tickets are $45 for the general public and $35 for museum members. Admission will be $55 at the door. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit delmnh.org. Visitors must be 21 or older to attend.
