5th September 2008 Print
Enjoy a real ‘Summer Holiday’ at Eastbourne Bandstand this week as Jimmy Jermain brings the sounds of Cliff Richard to the unique seafront venue later today. Audiences can look forward to a Tribute concert charting the success of the famous singer, Cliff Richard, whose popular hits including the likes of Living Doll, The Young Ones and Millennium Prayer span six decades.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said “The Bandstand continues to host fantastic Tribute nights every week and it is always really rewarding to see so many people going along. Eastbourne Bandstand is a truly unique entertainment venue in the whole of the UK and is the country’s only fully operational Bandstand. With just a few weeks left in the season, I want to encourage as many people as possible to go along to any one of the concerts that take place as there really is something for everyone.”

Tempo One bring the Bandstand alive tonight with all the Swing hits as Big Band night takes over.

Saturday takes audiences all the way to Broadway and the West End as Wadhurst Brass Band perform renditions of all the big stage show classics, with concert goers clapping and singing along.

And it’s a military end to the week on Sunday as the Band of the Guards Association provide a double dose of concert fever with a military afternoon concert kicking off at 3pm, followed by an evening Proms concert at 8pm. They then play daily for the following week as well as some evening concerts.

Audiences can look forward to singing along to all the traditional Proms songs, including Land of Hope and Glory, and Rule Britannia as they wave their flags to favourite songs from this past era.
