Streamlined fun awaits those with the right train of thought

Streamlined fun awaits those with the right train of thought Two Lake District attractions have had a ‘train-storming’ session to devise a streamlined schedule of fun for all the family over the weekend of September 20-21. The Lakes Aquarium and its neighbouring attraction, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, are hosting From Steam To Stream, an event returning by popular demand.

By buying a combined ticket on this special weekend, visitors can enjoy two top attractions, with some fun added extras along the way!

Passengers can hop on board the Froggy Express at Haverthwaite and take in some of the country’s most beautiful scenery from the train, before arriving at Lakeside, on the southern shore of Lake Windermere. There, they need only walk along the platform to reach the entrance of the Lakes Aquarium.

Inside the all-weather attraction, the From Steam to Stream ticket-holders can spend an hour or two getting to know more about creatures from freshwater environments and streams across the globe.

The attraction is also home to the Virtual Dive Bell – a stunning piece of technology providing educational insights into three larger-than-life creatures – hippos, Nile crocodiles and bull sharks. Its fun, easy-to-negotiate interactives and games are full of facts and figures.

For this special weekend only, From The Steam to Stream tickets cost £10.20 for an adult and £6.30 for a child with under five’s going free. As well as giving the holder a chance to experience both attractions, it also includes a goody bag of gifts, treats and fantastic quiz sheet, as well as special Froggy Express themed activities in the aquarium.

Tickets need to be purchased at Haverthwaite Station on the day. For more information, visit lakesiderailway.co.uk or lakesaquarium.co.uk.
