Spooky goings on this half term

20th October 2008 Print
Pumpkin carving, storytelling, fancy dress, spooky zoo tours and Halloween trails will all be part of the ghostly goings on at Blackpool Zoo this half-term. Plus the attraction will be hosting a special Halloween evening on Friday 31st October, from 4.00pm.

From Monday 27th to Friday 31st October the attraction is inviting visitors to come along and join in the spine-chilling fun. Throughout the week visitors will be able to take part in pumpkin workshops, where they will have the chance to carve a pumpkin and fill it with treats for the animals to enjoy. Then later in the day the children can watch the animals eat their Halloween treats.

There will also be storytelling and Halloween trails taking place throughout the week.

Then on Halloween itself, there will be lots more spooky goings on from 4.00pm. With just £5.00 entry for adults and children, the evening’s activities will include a fancy dress competition and zoo tours, trick or treat bags for the children and a drink and cookie - all included in the price.

Jude Rothwell, PR and Marketing Executive at Blackpool Zoo, said: “We’ve got lots of fun activities planned for this half-term and on Halloween night there will be more spooky surprises in store.

“There will be a great atmosphere around the zoo with staff getting into the spirit of things and dressing up in Halloween costume. We will also be giving prizes away to the visitors wearing the best fancy dress costumes at Friday’s Halloween event.”

During half-term week, from Monday 27th to Friday 31st, regular admission prices will apply. On Halloween night, from 4.30pm on Friday 31st October, entry is just £5.00 per person, for children and adults.
