Shakespeare Country members win coveted Godiva Awards
Shakespeare Country has much to celebrate after a number of members have won awards at the Lloyds TSB Godiva Awards announced on 16 October. The Coventry Transport Museum was awarded gold with The Falstaff’s Experience in Stratford-upon-Avon being awarded silver in the ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ category.White-sails in Stratford-upon-Avon achieved silver in the ‘Best Guest House’ category whilst the Heritage Motor Centre picked up two silver awards in the ‘Best Access for All’ and ‘Best Conference Venue’ categories.
The awards, which promote and reward lifestyle, tourism and leisure industries in Coventry and Warwickshire, have become the leading event in the region recognising businesses with creativity, flair, ingenuity and commitment.
Another cause for celebration is the recent success in the Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards. Shakespeare Country has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Destination Tourism Website of the Year’ category. All other nominations for Warwickshire are members of Shakespeare Country with the Stratford Menzies Hotel being nominated under ‘Large Hotel/Townhouse of the Year’, Guiding You for the ‘Outstanding Customer Care’ Award, Kenilworth Castle for ‘Large Visitor Attraction’ and Woodside for the ‘Heart of England Business Tourism’ Award. The Heritage Motor Centre has also been nominated for two categories, ‘Large Visitor Attraction’ and ‘Access for All Award’.
