Circling Raven Golf Club – A sure bet for a great course

15th December 2008 Print
When it comes to casino gaming, it can be risky and exciting business. But when it comes to casino affiliated golf courses there are some sure bets not to be missed according to Golfweek Magazine.

Circling Raven Golf Club hit the jackpot – again – when Golfweek Magazine course rating panelists ranked it No. 11 nationally in its “2008 America’s Best Casino Courses” list. The best-of list is in the Dec. 13-19 issue which was released yesterday.

Circling Raven is a Gene Bates-designed amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel in Worley, an easy and scenic drive just east of the Spokane (WA) Airport and just south of Coeur d’Alene. The golf club is owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe.

Golfweek raters examine overall strength of routing, feature shaping, natural setting, greens, variety and memorability of holes, conditioning and maintenance, landscape management and other criteria.

Of the 30 Golfweek-rated best casino courses, Circling Raven is the only one in the Northwest.

“We take great pride in this Golfweek honor as it encompasses both our casino resort and our golf course,” said Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort CEO David Lasarte-Meeks. “We hope this much-appreciated award brings us new guests who can judge Circling Raven and Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel for themselves.”

This is third consecutive year Golfweek has included Circling Raven on its best-of casino course list and the sixth time overall it has been so recognized. Golf Digest Magazine rated it the nation’s fourth best casino course in its latest best-of list in this category, while Native American Casino Magazine rated it No. 1 casino course in the U.S. Native Peoples Magazine also cited Circling Raven as one of the nation’s best.
