Dubai Marina Mall to house 160 retailers

Dubai Marina Mall, developed by Emaar Malls Group opened today with the aim of capturing holiday sales. More stores are planned to open in the lead up to Dubai Shopping Festival. As a lifestyle shopping and leisure destination, Dubai Marina Mall will be the fashion address and entertainment hub for residents in the Dubai Marina.

With 390,000 sq ft of leasable area over four levels, Dubai Marina Mall will feature 160 stores dedicated to fashion, jewellery, home furnishings, entertainment and a strong waterfront dining offer. Located in the heart of Emaar’s thriving waterfront community, Dubai Marina Mall will provide residents with all the conveniences of a centre for the local community, combined with a retail and leisure mix rivaling that of a world-class shopping mall.

Fashion, accessories and beauty brands on offer will shortly include: Bebe Sport, Karen Millen, Diesel, Ed Hardy, Juicy Couture, Patrizia Pepe, Paul & Shark, Miss Sixty, Byblos, Fred Perry, Lacoste, Nautica, Desigual, Cole Haan, Duchamps, Folli Follie, Yamamay, Guess by Marciano, Reiss, Sephora and Bobbi Brown.

Mr Ian Ferguson, General Manager, Dubai Marina Mall, said: “With a dynamic mix of high street fashion and trendy labels, Dubai Marina Mall will appeal to the cosmopolitan needs of the marina residents. The Dubai Marina attracts a relatively ‘younger’ demographic with singles, the newly married or young families who embrace the vibrant marina lifestyle. Dubai Marina Mall will be the destination of choice for shopping, leisure and entertainment.”

Mr Ferguson added: “Two of the mall’s key features are a great location with convenient access coupled with a strong retail mix. Estimates show that there will be approximately 36,000 residents in the Dubai Marina area by 2010 and this is to grow to 45,000 by 2015. Dubai Marina Mall is ideally placed not only to be a hub for this growing core population but also to service the much broader catchment area of New Dubai as a whole.”

Dubai Marina Mall’s unique positioning on the marina, lends itself to a casual dining experience with al fresco dining and waterfront views. The international food and beverage offer will reflect the varied tastes of marina residents with restaurants such as Dean & Deluca, Yo! Sushi, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Noodle Factory, Karam Beirut, and all-day cafés such as Café Nero, Café Blanc and Eric Kayser to open in early 2009.

In addition, a flagship Waitrose store will come on line in January 2009 offering a wide range of innovative, quality food products. Voted Britain's best high street retailer, Waitrose's dedication to freshness will be reflected through its in-store bakery, butchery, fishmongers and market style fresh fruit and vegetable area. This will be the largest supermarket in the entire Dubai Marina community.

To entertain and provide service to parents and children, Favourite Things, the home-grown children’s edutainment and play centre for parents and children, will open their second UAE outlet at Dubai Marina Mall. Children can play and learn in a safe environment while parents do their weekly shopping.

The entire development comprises The Address hotel and serviced residences; a 7-storey Gourmet Tower dedicated to diverse haute cuisine and accessible by a pedestrian bridge; and Marina Plaza, a commercial tower that was launched to overwhelming customer response. The mall itself has over 2,000 dedicated car parking spaces and is accessible directly from Sheikh Zayed Road via a new tunnel just past exit 32.
