Its rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb in Wakefield

5th February 2009 Print
Forget Bermuda, this month the only polygon to be seen is is the UK's very own Rhubarb Triangle. This lesser known 9 square mile area is where, until just a few decades ago, more than 90% of the world's forced rhubarb was grown and food-lovers gather every year in celebration of this humble crumble side-kick.

To coincide with the annual Wakefield Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb (Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February), the Holiday Inn Leeds Wakefield is offering one night's bed & breakfast and dinner for two with a rhubarb-themed menu including chicken breast with rhubarb compote, rhubarb fool and a bottle of rhubarb wine.

Prices start from £89 per room. For reservations visit Holidayinn.co.uk.
