Sail to Montserrat for St Patrick’s Day

Antigua-based yacht company OnDeck is offering travellers the chance to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in neighbouring Montserrat as part of a specially designed package.

Excursionists will be welcomed on board OnDeck’s spectacular Farr 65’s round-the-world, ocean-going yacht on the morning of Monday 16th March for the five-hour sail from Antigua to Montserrat. The yacht will dock at lunchtime, giving travellers the afternoon free for sightseeing before the main St Patrick’s Day events which take place on 17th March 2009.

Montserrat is the only country outside of Ireland where St Patrick’s Day is a national holiday. Events taking place on 17th March include a freedom run, community breakfast, a St Patrick’s Day parade, heritage feast and other celebrations at Festival Village.

The return yacht trip will depart Montserrat at midday on 18th March, returning to Antigua at 6pm.
