Indulge in golfing luxury
It’s not often you get the opportunity in any sport to play competitively at a venue which has just hosted a major international event – but golfers competing in June’s Mallorca Luxury Golf Cup can enjoy exactly that.Just a few weeks after former Ryder Cup captains Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Mark James have competed in the Son Gual Mallorca Senior Open at the stunning Golf Son Gual course, just outside Palma, amateur golfers have the chance to compete in a prestigious competition at the same venue.
The Majorca Luxury Golf Cup runs from June 5-7, and comprises a sponsored tournament on each day with prizes donated by the individual sponsor. Exclusive Spanish luxury fashion and fragrance brand Loewe sponsor’s Friday’s event; world-renowned Swiss watch brand Mont Blanc is the patron for Saturday’s tournament; and the opulent Italian jeweler Bulgari will be supplying the prizes for the final day’s play on Sunday.
Each player receives a welcome pack from the sponsors; there is a prize-giving dinner with golf equipment to be won; cocktails on the club terrace with live music after each day’s play and competitors also get free use of the golf club spa during their stay.
Son Gual’s managing director, Andreas Pamer, said: “The Luxury Golf Cup gives people an opportunity to experience golf as it should be on the island of Mallorca: it’s competitive, in stunning surroundings and with the opportunity to relax before and after the golf.
“It’s an ideal few days getaway for any golfer who wishes to leave the stresses and strains of everyday life behind. It’s not called the Luxury Cup for nothing…”
