Spring Special events at Willows

20th May 2009 Print
Spring Special events at Willows There is lots of fun to be had this May half term during the Spring Special event from 23rd – 31st May at Willows Farm Village. The highlight of the spring half term programme will be an amazing dog agility show.

Widely-known as ‘man’s best friend’, dogs have always been regarded as intelligent and the half term shows will demonstrate just how clever they can be.

The dogs will perform fantastic tricks and navigate their way through obstacles, showing off their remarkable skill and agility!

Also during Spring Special is the chance to see Sheep Shearing Demonstrations with Tuck the Shepherd at work demonstrating this rural craft. Once a year, as the weather warms up, Tuck and his helpers remove the thick woolly coats from the sheep to make them comfortable for the summer months.

Willows farmer Andrew Wolfe says: “Spring half term is a perfect time of year to visit a farm. As well as the once-a-year sheep shearing demonstrations and the dog agility shows, we also have a packed programme of activities planned every day so children can let off steam, enjoy a day in the countryside and have fun at the same time.

“In Farmyard Favourites there are plenty of newborn animals for children to see and we also have a brand new Frisbee Golf course which parents and children will love. Out on the farm, children can visit all the animals and can feed the goats, pigs and sheep.”

After seeing the Spring Special shows, children will enjoy completing Woolly’s Workout Agility Play Trail, and having a go on the new carousel fun fair ride, bouncy castles and trampolines. And if the sun decides to have a day off, there are also plenty of undercover activities, with adventure play in Woolly Jumpers indoor play barn and shows in Woolly Jumpers Showtime Theatre.

Half term visitors should watch out for Willows mascot ‘Woolly Willow’ who will be around during Spring Special – although he will be staying well clear of the Sheep Shearing!
