Stratford named world’s most charming small town Stratford-upon-Avon has been voted the number one charming small town in the world by TripAdvisor. Shakespeare’s hometown is also the only town in the UK featured in the top ten.

In second place was San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, followed by Nelson in New Zealand and in fourth place was Honfleur in France. Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany was fifth followed by Donegal in Ireland. Avila in Spain was seventh, followed by St Wolfgang in Austria, Chania in Greece and Todo Santos in Mexico in tenth place.

TripAdvisor attracts nearly 32 million monthly visitors and makes up the most popular and largest travel community in the world. Featuring real advice from real travellers, TripAdvisor-branded sites cover over 400,000 hotels and attractions and operate in the U.S, U.K, France, Germany, Japan, India, Italy and Spain.

Featuring travel advice on the historic town, the website also lists the top rated hotels and B&B’s along with attractions, restaurants, things to do before you visit, traveller reviews and a forum on the town.
