24 hour party draws revellers to Rimini Revellers in Rimini in Northern Italy will be painting the town pink as the stylish tourist destination flings open its doors from sunset on the 4th of July to dawn on the 5th of July to party non-stop for 24 hours.

The event ‘La Notte Rosa’ or ‘pink night’ is dedicated to the pursuit of pure enjoyment with over 300 fun activities planned from shows, concerts, firework displays, carnival parades to musical extravaganzas and light shows.

The entire Rimini Riviera will be open for 24 hours of festivity and merrymaking as the 110km of breathtaking coastline becomes an enormous stage where everyone has a part to play and everyone is invited.

Maurizio Melucci, Tourism Councillor and Vice Mayor of the Municipality of Rimini, said: “Think about the biggest party you’ve ever been to and multiply it by one hundred and you won’t even come close to just how huge La Notte Rosa is on Italy’s social calendar. The Rimini Riviera’s pink celebration is akin to the Italian summer’s ‘New Year’s Eve bash’ and is a truly unique experience.

“The night is a culmination of a weeks’ worth of events and celebrations and the packed programme of fun activities brings people together, young and old alike, to just let their hair down and be entertained. From theatre companies, street performers, musicians, artists, tourists, local residents and local businesses everyone is involved in making sure Rimini is in the pink and ready to party!”

Organised by the Province of Rimini, the municipalities of Emilia Romagna coast and their tourism promotion agency as well as various trade associations and private businesses, the event is an amazing feat of organisation on the grandest scale.

The figures speak for themselves. Throughout the pink celebrations 100,000 pink t-shirts, bags, caps and balloons will be distributed, 20,000 fireworks set off into the night sky along the entire length of the Riviera, 30km of pink lights decorating the 3,500 hotels and 12,000 litres of drinks will be consumed.

Many of the Riviera’s famous landmarks will be coloured pink for the duration of the festival including the world renowned Grand Hotel, Roman temples and arches and historic bridges.

Mr Melucci concluded: “The colour pink radiates positive energy and symbolizes love, friendship and happiness. La Notte Rosa is all about making friends, enjoyment and coming together to share unique experiences. It is fast becoming one of Europe’s leading tourist attractions appealing to visitors from across the world and this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever!”
