Uncover secrets from the deep in Thames Treasures: London’s River Revealed are an exciting series of events running as part of the Festival of British Archaeology (18 July – 2 August).

From lectures on sunken Tudor ships to riverside tours, Iron Age storytelling to paper boat making – the river runs through activities for all ages. Experts have fishy tales and foreshore finds aplenty, featuring all manner of weird and wonderful watery treats including coracles, mudlarks, elephant gods and whale-bones. Dip in to the programme at Museum of London and Museum of London Docklands and find out more.

Explore the archaeology of the Thames with two weeks of free adult and family events. Meet experts who will reveal the hidden histories of London’s river. Enjoy weekday gallery tours and talks and a whole host of family activities on the weekend of 1 and 2 August. Handle some of the intriguing objects found in the Thames and find out just how they are preserved.

You can make your own boats and Roman-style lamps and learn about the skeletons of people that lived and worked by the river. All these events and many more will be taking place at the Museum of London and the Museum of London Docklands.
