The ultimate action-packed long weekend

It's all possible with a late night flight on Thursday evening from Heathrow arriving into the Garden city the following day. Speed through immigration at the city's award-winning Changi airport, take a quick taxi ride, freshen up at one of Singapore's many excellent hotels and then it's a weekend of scintillating action and entertainment. A return night flight on Monday evening arrives in the early hours of the following day, just in time for a quick change before heading into the office.
Get packing, here goes!
After arriving in Singapore, celebrate with a cocktail at a sassy outdoor bar in Clarke Quay or Boat Quay and soak up the atmosphere of this sultry equatorial city. Next stop, Food! One of many things at which Singapore excels, offering an incredible choice of cuisine ranging from tantalising ethnic dishes from local hawker stalls, to fabulous fine dining and continental dishes.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, it's time to head down to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the start of the practice and race qualifying track action. Be dazzled by 1,600 track spotlights and 20 cars racing through the city streets, all revved up for the qualifying sessions. The GP Season action continues throughout the weekend with a host of international musical and theatre acts providing non-stop drama and excitement. Rock 'till you drop with Travis, Chaka Khan, Backstreet Boys and Youssou N'Dour, then head back to the hotel for some well earned sleep!
On Sunday 27th after a well deserved lie-in, it's time to explore the city! Check out sculpture and photography exhibitions, snap up some great shopping bargains along Orchard Road or take a trip on the Singapore Flyer for a bird's eye view of the city in all its splendour! Then head off for the Sunday evening race extravaganza that kicks off at 8:00 pm. The chequered flag falls just after 9:30pm, and then it’s time to toast the winner and enjoy the post- race parties and night long entertainment.
Enjoy the extra days chilling out in the sun and visiting some of the city's many other attractions, such as Sentosa Island, the Night Safari, and Botanic Gardens and enjoy more of its delicious food and delightful hospitality. Intrepid weekend travellers will be the envy of their friends having enjoyed the Ultimate Action-Packed Weekend Getaway, Singapore style.
