Happy Yorkshire Day

5th August 2009 Print
Happy Yorkshire Day Celebrate Yorkshire Day with the locals in August, when men and women from all over the historic county show appreciation towards their flat caps, pies and gravy. Yorkshire County Cricket Club show just how proud the people of the area can be.

When clubs around the rest of England changed rules to allow players born outside the region to play for the county team, Yorkshire stuck to its roots. Only after 24 years of failed championship wins did Yorkshire finally concede and allow those from outside Yorkshire to play for the team.

Headingley, Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s ground, plays host to the 4th Test of the Ashes in August and with Yorkshire Day falling the previous week there is sure to be a great deal of support around the game.

Sportsworld offers official corporate hospitality at Headingley for the 4th Test on Friday August 7th 2009 from £549 per person. This includes padded balcony seating, morning pastries, four course lunch, full afternoon tea, a champagne reception and a complimentary bar.

Overnight accommodation and transfers to and from the venue by limousine or executive coach can be arranged at a supplement. A capacity of just 32 guests allows this facility to be taken on a private basis, alternatively tables are available for parties of 10 or more guests with smaller groups required to share.
