Natural entertainment that won’t break the budget

The invaluable workshops will take place on 13, 20 and 27 August and on 3 September from 2pm – 4pm. Experienced and knowledgeable staff from the Stratford Butterfly Farm will provide hands on learning as well as offering practical advice and information. A free Butterfly Trail Quiz is also available throughout the holidays to provide further educational entertainment.
The wildlife workshop will show children how to design and colour their own butterflies by using recycled products such as toilet rolls, egg boxes and paper. Staff will also give useful advice as to how to get the most out of recycling and how it can help in your garden.
The workshops will also include the following:
Butterfly Farm Mini Tour - a shortened tour designed to be more hands on, focusing on conservation techniques and meeting a variety of animals/insects.
Pond Skimming - using a net to find out which animals/insects live in the pond and why ponds are good for your garden.
Pit-fall traps - how to set a pit-fall trap in your garden to find insects and other creepy crawlies.
Walk around a British Butterfly Garden - learn about British butterflies and how to attract them as well as cleaver tricks to entice other animals and insects such as millipedes, beetles, birds and even bats to your garden.
