Last chance for summer space camp in Edinburgh
This weekend marks the end of Our Dynamic Earth’s summer activities and is the last chance for budding astronauts to discover if they could apply for the coolest job in the galaxy. In the past five weeks, over 3500 people have already taken the ‘Have you got the right stuff?’ challenge in the Dynamic Earth Space Agency, an interactive boot-camp which puts visitors of all ages through their paces. Developed by the National Space Centre and based on actual NASA testing participants hurtle through a journey of visual, mental and physical tests, covering everything from good eyesight through deciphering visual tricks to stamina based on exercise equipment and blood pressure monitoring.
Upon successful completion candidates achieve a NASA Approved ‘Pass’, proving they have what it takes to become an astronaut of the future. The adventurous can also experience G-force by going for a whirl in a Spaceball gyroscope.
