Sheep Day at Black Swan Arts
Black Swan Arts in Frome, Somerset, are hosting a fun packed family day on Saturday 19th September from 10am to 5pm to celebrate their season of sheep related exhibitions.Gallery One
‘SHEEP-FROM LAMB TO LOOM’ by Kate Lynch and Alastair Goolden
This multi media exhibition is the result of three years fieldwork. Kate lynch has travelled the West Country visiting sheep farmers, crafts people and artisans from the Mendips to Exmoor, and from the Somerset Levels to the sea. Kate’s paintings and drawings are accompanied by a sound piece designed by Alastair Goolden

‘BLUE’ by Carol Griffin, Carolyn Griffiths and Ama Bolton
Blue will show how the round tower may have been used as a wool drying tower in times past, on display will be the Wallbridge Mill dye recipe book from the 18th century and contemporary textile and glass works, all inspired by the ancient processes of blue dying.
Knitting Workshop
Beginners 10am-12pm / improvers 2pm-4pm
£15/£12 concession
Lin Walton and Mary Henderson will be running a knitting workshop which promises to give everyone, from absolute beginners upwards, the chance to create they’re very own piece of art.
This is a fun filled family day out with activities for children including a sheep treasure hunt, wire sculptures, and sheep related produce, such as cheese and wool on sale in the courtyard and information stalls on everything related to sheep, from sheering courses to spinning courses. Divas Café will be serving a specially themed menu for the day using local lamb, sheep cheese and much more to create a food fiesta for us all to indulge in.
