Go wild with spooky fun at Bewilderwood

14th September 2009 Print
Keeping your children entertained as the nights draw in is always challenging, but at Bewilderwood, the curious treehouse adventure park in Norfolk, the Twiggles have come up with plenty of fantastic, spooky and entertaining fun to keep your little monsters happy over the autumn bank holiday.

Bewilderwood’s ‘Snagglefang's Spooky Spectacular’ from October 26th to November 1st 2009 is a wonderful Halloween-themed event where kids of all ages can really get involved in this slightly scary time of year.

There are loads of activities for those who love to be creative, such as apple carving, mask making and lantern making. Dressing up is also a must to get into the spirit of things, and the Twiggles would be delighted to welcome kids who have made their own outfits at home.

If you’re bats about Bewilderwood’s naughty Bewilderbats, then the bat-themed trail will be just the thing for you. The Bewilderbats love to tell jokes; their trail will take you in search of colour-coded bats and if you can match their jokes to their punch lines, you will win a special Halloween treat!

Jo Artherton, Bewilderwood’s Marketing Manager, said: “The Spooky Spectacular is great fun for all the family. It really encourages kids to be creative and put together their own costumes and masks. Adults love it too, and can get as involved as the kids. No-one really grows out of their love of Halloween!”

At dusk, you can take part in the popular Lantern Parade – if you dare! It’s even longer this year and will take you on a winding, spooky trail around Bewilderwood using the lanterns you have made to light and guide the way.

Are you sitting comfortably – then I’ll begin? The characters on which Bewilderwood is based capture the imagination of everyone who comes to the park and the books, written by owner Tom Blofeld, are bestsellers.

Children can get even more involved with the adventures of these charming characters by taking part in Bewilderwood’s popular interactive storytelling events. They can dress up and take part in the stories as the team of tellers relate thrilling tales featuring the Twiggles and Boggles, Mildred the Crocklebog, Thornyclod and the naughty Bewilderbats.

“The characters at Bewilderwood are enchanting and very popular with children,” said Jo. “The storytelling events are a great way to get closer to them and kids love a story. We have a wonderful team of tellers, especially Sheila, who really brings it all to life.”
