Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show returns to Earls Court, London from 1st-4th February and Birmingham’s NEC from 2nd to 4th March 2007, with unrivalled advice from travel experts and celebrities, international entertainment, sampling of flavours from around the world, the most up to the minute travel literature and exclusive Show offers, ensuring this is the most exhilarating way to know before you go.

Responsible Travel and Volunteerism:

Visitors can find out how to give our fragile planet and local communities a break in an area dedicated to Responsible Travel. Whether it’s a two-week holiday in Cusco, Peru working on a voluntary programme or a Moroccan family adventure from the mountains to the crumbling Kasbah, experts will be on hand from a range of companies.

Panel Sessions:

Visitors are invited to meet professional photographers and journalists and participate in panel sessions including ‘Behind The Lens’ and ‘The Art of Travel Writing'. Panel discussions include ‘Going solo’ with participants who have had life-enhancing experiences or those who have already taken the plunge with ‘Career Breaks'.

Theatres offer visitors the opportunity to sit back and refuel the mind with enlightening stories followed by questions and answers with passionate travel celebrities. Guest speakers include:

Martin Bell presented by Cox & Kings:

Foreign affairs correspondent turned politician, Martin has reported from 80 countries and covered 11 conflicts. Martin will be speaking on Cruising in Bosnia.

Ken Hames:

Ex-Special Forces Ken is most well known for 'Beyond Boundaries' (BBC2) Ken is starring in 'Mission Africa' from January 3rd 2007 (BBC1) where he leads 15 apprentice builders from the UK to Kenya to build an eco lodge and game reserve. He will be sharing some of his tales at the Show.

Ian Maxwell:

Ian has been hailed as the next ‘Steve Irwin’. He comes from Zambia and is the world’s leading tracker instructing police forces and governments around the world. He stars in ‘Tracker’ which will be aired on national television later in the year.

Saba Douglas Hamilton presented by Discover The World:

Saba is an anthropological and wildlife TV documentary presenter best known for BBC’s 'Big Cat Diaries'. Whilst filming for BBC Holiday, Saba’s lifelong dream of visiting Antarctica came true. She will be recalling this amazing trip.

New for 2007 - BBC News presents…

Ben Anderson Journalist and broadcaster recently reported on danger zones from five of the world's most dangerous rivers. The journey took him from the jungles of Brazil, to the sacred Ganges and the combat zone of Iraq, Iran, Syria and Libya, and The Amazon.

Simon Reeve:

Author and broadcaster, Simon Reeve will inspire with details from his unique journey around The Equator from Gabon in West Africa, through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Indonesian Sumatra, Borneo and Sulawesi, the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil.

Caroline Hawley:

BBC Middle East Correspondent was previously the BBC's Baghdad correspondent. Caroline joined the BBC in 1994 as a newsroom journalist for the BBC World Service, before becoming a West Asia and then Africa reporter.
