Affordable beach areas

Litchfield Plantation, located on the mainland on a 600 acre former rice plantation, is bounded by the Intracoastal Waterway but also owns a beach clubhouse on the oceanfront in Pawleys Island which provides its guests private parking, a beach attendant, chairs, umbrellas, etc., all for the cost of an overnight stay at the Country Inn. In addition to the public beach in Pawleys Island, the area is blessed with a wonderful state park called Huntington Beach State Park.
It has a unique history, as it is part of a 6000 acre estate that once belonged to the famous sculpture, Anna Hyatt Huntington. The rest of their estate is now a world-famous sculpture garden called Brookgreen Gardens. Huntington Beach offers camping as well as day facilities, wonderful birding, an alligator viewing station, guided walks, and more.
