New developments for Grenada

30th July 2007 Print
British serial entrepreneur Peter de Savary, renowned the world over for his legendary hospitality creations, is spearheading the creation of several new destinations on the luxuriant, tropical island of Grenada, known as " the spice island" and now, according to de Savary, set to become the new St Tropez.

With the multi-billion dollar project well under-way, in by far his most ambitious and romantic undertaking to date, de Savary is the catalyst for the lifestyle developments taking place both on the sandy beaches and on the mountainous, lush coastline.

These include:

Port Louis:

Rising dramatically to the south of the capital, St George's, overlooking the picturesque and historic Carenage and the beaches, Port Louis will become one of the world's most charming destinations with it's portfolio of West Indian and Mediterranean-style community of residential, retail, hotels, spa clubs, restaurants, beach and a world class marina.

Port Louis will centre on the lively marina village and spectacular water-front which will offer up to 300 slips for yachts up to 280 feet. The Port Louis Yacht Club will be central to the marina as well as the recently launched Victory Bar & Grill named after de Savary's America's Cup Challenge in 1983. The first berths are expected to be released by June.

The village will offer a wide range of options for investors, holidaymakers, yachtsmen and prospective homeowners. Designated a free-port by the Grenadian Government, Port Louis will provide duty-free shopping, a magnet for retailers and shoppers. De Savary is working with a number of international and local partners to create a vibrant and diverse environment.

Residential real estate includes several spectacularly set villa lots suitable for villas up to 6000 sq ft with outstanding views of the Caribbean.

The dramatic cliffside apartments, townhouses and marina apartments as well as several penthouse apartments in the Port Louis Club House are a mix of styles to echo the evolving architecture of Grenada through the centuries.

The plans also include a superb spa and well being centre. Port Louis' Pandy Beach is being enhanced with additional white sand to complement the crystal clear azure sea.

Mount Cinnamon:

Located on the 2 miles of the famous Grand Anse Beach, the first phase of Mount Cinnamon will be released on 1 April 2007. Set in tropical gardens, the launch of the first twenty-one turnkey fully furnished designer homes, all have magnificent views of the beach and Caribbean Sea. The Beach Cabana is the centre-point of the water-sports and beach activities and there is a trendy restaurant, pool, tennis court, gym and treatment rooms all open by May 2007.

A luxurious beach hotel with full resort facilities will additionally offer options for fractional and whole ownership of further phases of real estate.

Peter de Savary, Founder and Chairman commented; "I am delighted to take a fundamental role in the creations of what will be some of the world's outstanding destinations and long-term investment opportunities. It has been my pleasure to be in Grenada, working closely with the forward thinking Government and the friendly people of Grenada for the long-term growth and success of the country.

He continued; "Grenada needs and will have new investment which must be based on quality not quantity. Care must be taken to protect the culture and unspoilt environment of Grenada and not to overload the infrastructure of the country or spoil its charm and beauty and, above all, the friendliness of its people".
