ADELAIDE SECURES NEW WORLD TENNIS EVENT
A new international tennis tournament, the World Tennis Challenge Adelaide, will take place at the city’s Memorial Drive from 15-17 January 2009, featuring top current, past and junior players. It is anticipated that four countries will play each other during the tournament, with current players facing up to past legends the week before the Australian Open begins. It is expected that Australia, the USA, Sweden and Russia will compete in Adelaide which means that potentially players will be Lleyton Hewitt and Pat Cash, Marit Safin and Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Jim Courier, Jochim Johannson and Mats Wilander.

RECORD ENTRIES FOR 20th WORLD SOLAR CHALLENGE
The 20th Panasonic World Solar Challenge will be held from 21-28 October 2007, with cars departing Darwin on the 21st and leading teams expected to arrive in Adelaide four days later. The ultimate challenge in sustainable energy is expecting record entries for this year’s event, with 46 teams from research and educational institutions competing from 21 countries, including London’s own UCL (University of the City of London).

SKODA CONFIRMS SPONSORSHIP OF TOUR DOWN UNDER
ŠKODA AUTO, subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, has confirmed major sponsorship of the Tour Down Under cycling event for the next three years, which is expected to strengthen the event’s standing internationally. Skoda is already a big supporter of cycling in Europe, currently sponsoring nine ProTour teams, major events such as the Tour de France, and is the official car of the Union Cycliste Internationale. This major sponsorship brings direct investment, a strong marketing leverage program and international relationships.
