Virtual Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) London understands the importance of online communication and has taken giant virtual footsteps to increase the level of information available via the internet. The new look Travel Thailand website (launched October 2006) has been very well received and the tourist board is recording an average of 30,000 hits per month.TAT has improved the site further in line with travel research trends (showing internet research plays a key role in the booking of holidays) and has added the following facilities:
Podcast
Following a very successful CHIC radio campaign wit Heart FM, one of London’s most popular radio stations, comes Thailands first podcast narrated by Harriet Scott. The podcast gives listeners a wonderful introduction to the sights and sounds of Thailand providing information about destination resorts, Thai culture, what to do, where to eat and where to stay.
Take a virtual tour of Thailand
When planning your next trip to Thailand make the most of TAT’s new Planning Your Trip section on the website Tourismthailand.co.uk/planningatrip and enjoy the beauty and excitement of what’s in store in Thailand from the comfort of your computer with the new interactive footage available. Navigate your way around the country using the interactive map and select the destination you want to view first.
CHIC by Thailand
Following the launch of CHIC by Thailand - the second chapter, TAT unveils the new brochure online. The gorgeously green new brochure is available to browse and download from the website homepage. New for 2007 is the CHIC by Thailand DVD – a beautiful journey through Thailand showcasing the best of all things hip, boutique and CHIC. Cosmopolitan Thailand is just a few clicks away.
E-newsletter
TAT’s ever popular monthly Travel Thailand Enewsletter now has over 9,500 avid readers with subscriptions increasing monthly. The Enews provides a fun and informative update of Thailand from Destinations, Spas, Style, Food to great giveaways and competitions. Green Room
The Green Room has been developed in response to the growing importance of climate care and is where TAT will showcase Thailand’s green credentials. Thailand’s travel and tourism industry are very modest about their green achievements and so TAT has created this platform, amongst others, to promote eco-Thailand. The Green Room will be opening very soon and when it does you are very welcome to visit and read up on the following: The Green Leaf Foundation, Thai Royal Projects, eco adventures and activities and volontourism and much more.
