Fabulous offerings from Thailand

8th October 2007 Print
Thailand remains a popular all year round tourist destination with high quality, value-for-money, products and services. CHIC is the word for Thailand again in 2007 - last year saw a surge in new boutique offerings to the lesser-known resorts such as Koh Yao, Trang, Koh Chang, Koh Racha and Khao Lak.

Complimenting this Thailand also witnessed a growth in new, CHIC and must see attractions. The trend for all things new, CHIC and boutique continued in 2007 with the following new openings and offerings:

NEW ATTRACTIONS:
Expect to be blown away at Breeze, the newest alfresco fine-dinning experience in Bangkok. Lebua’s latest offering is located on the 51st and 52nd floors of the sky-scraping State Tower. This makes Breeze Thailand’s highest al-fresco seafood restaurant (opened January 2007) Lebua.com.

Superfly is a newcomer to Bangkok’s clubbing night scene bringing pure 70’s disco funk to the city. Think Austin Powers meets John Travolta. The décor takes you back to another era with sparkly sofa cushions, unisex bathrooms and an all glass dancefloor that lights up in for shades of purple. Superfly also hosts Thailand’s largest glitter ball! Superflybangkok.com.

Adding to Chiang Mai’s burgeoning food scene, MAZE Café recently opened in Chiang Mai city. Post-modern chintzy chic, the two storey building offers a serene escape from the urban hustle, Mazecafe.com.

Shopping in Phuket just got bigger and better! Branded as ‘the destination for life leisure’, Phukets new Jungceylon shopping and entertainment complex at Patong Beach opened in April 2007 and houses major department stores, over 200 local and international brand shops, a Thai handicraft centre, cinemas, a fully-equipped sports zone, night entertainment venues, alfresco food courts and restaurants! Jungceylon.com.

NEW MODES OF TRANPORT:
Destination Air launched in February 2007, is a private sea plane service between some of the key islands surrounding Phuket in the Andaman Sea. Destination Air offers a chic and sophisticated way to travel out to and between various islands; the company also offers organised excursions with daily departures. Destinationair.com.
