Audi gears up for relocation of Edinburgh dealership

Audi gears up for relocation of Edinburgh dealership Royal London has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to dispose of the Audi car dealership on Seafield Road East in Edinburgh due to the relocation of the business to new purpose built premises within Sighthill Industrial Estate.

Seafield Road is one of the four established car dealership locations in the city and the Audi premises, which will become vacant in early 2009, span some 1,928.69 sq m (20,760 sq ft).

Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse of Cushman & Wakefield said, “The premises, which offer a high quality showroom area to the front of the main building with a substantial workshop space to the rear, benefit from a highly prominent location with clear visibility from Seafield Road East. With surrounding occupiers including Peter Vardy BMW, Murray Volvo and Arnold Clark Motor Store I have no doubt that there will be significant interest in the premises.

“Edinburgh has always been a popular car dealership location and even in the current economic climate, franchise operators are still being encouraged by manufacturers to expand their business, in anticipation of future growth in the motor trade sector. This often leads to relocation and with a shortage of leasehold stock in the city at present, opportunities for operators to acquire premises of this type are rare.”

The new Audi premises on Bankhead Drive within Sighthill Industrial Estate are currently under construction.
