Visitors seeing double with North East England’s latest TV Ad

The new adverts will focus on the family market and over-50s and include shots of Holy Island, Hamsterley forest, Cragside, mima and Dance City.
Following the success of last year’s TV campaign which was shown in Norwegian cinemas, the new adverts will be shown across the UK and in North East England’s three key markets: Australia, Norway and Holland.
As well as 100 million UK viewers having a chance to see it, last year’s TV advert was named ‘World’s Leading Travel Television Commercial’ by the World Travel Awards.
The new adverts will air on ITV1 and Channel 4 targeting areas within a three hour drive time and nationwide on satellite television.
The campaign will launch on January 7th with the family-focused commercials, as they tend to book holidays months in advance. Later in the year the focus will shift to older couples who book nearer the time of visit.
Stacy Hall, Director of Communications & Tourism at One NorthEast said: “The 2008 TV campaign will reach more potential visitors than ever before being broadcast across the UK, Europe and Australia.
“Our first TV campaign in 2006 transformed the way we promoted North East England but in a competitive global market place it is vital every advert is better than the last.”
