Agritourism is the crossroads of tourism and agriculture: when the public visits working farms, ranches or wineries to buy products, enjoy entertainment, participate in activities, shop in a country store, eat a meal or make overnight stays. The Oklahoma Agritourism Traveller map highlights how most of the regions country inn's, Route 66 motor inns, and working cattle ranches can be combined with a regional winery tour, making the most unique and custom "real America" holiday.
Within an hour of Tulsa visitors can escape to Grand wine country and visit three unique wineries. The vineyards range from 2-9 yrs of age and incorporate many different kinds of grapes and on the wine trail you will have the opportunity to taste a large variety of wines and learn about different wine making styles and techniques. Discover how art and science work hand in hand during the winemaking process, taste, shop, and visit the tasting rooms or relax with a picnic and a bottle of wine on one of the sun washed patios.
Kansas currently is home to 15 wineries, which combine to produce more than 50,000 gallons of wine and host thousands of visitors each year. Using locally grown grapes, berries, and other fruits, these Kansas winemakers produce a wide variety of delicious favourites, including some you won't find anywhere else. Kansas vintners have received more than 300 international awards for their wines in recent years, often drawing comparisons to the celebrated wines of California's Napa Valley and the Finger Lakes region in New York.
