A new approach to discovering wine

17th March 2008 Print
A new approach to discovering wine Bordeaux specialists, Gourmet Touring, have unveiled their ‘Vignobles’ wine touring itinerary. Targeted predominantly at people who know what wines they like, but aren’t sure why, ‘Vignobles’ unravels many of the mysteries of Bordeaux wine.

Itineraries are all tailor-made to each couple’s, or group’s, interests and existing knowledge. Transport is provided in stylish, open-topped, 2-seater sports cars. Local knowledge is provided through a personally prepared touring guidebook and accompanying GPS system.

A special two-part wine class in St Emilion is run by an unpretentious expert who takes clients through the evolution of the appellation’s wines – by the best teaching method possible – tasting.

Appointments at various wine chateaux, for tours and tastings, are individually organised to link in to personal tastes and interests.

Gastronomy is also a priority with a pre-paid meal at a Michelin starred restaurant. Fine wines are included and selected to match each course and clients are chauffeured back to their chateau accommodation at its conclusion.

Prices start from £890 per person for a 3-night stay.

‘Vignobles’ itineraries for arrival before end June 2008, including hire of a Porsche for the full duration, benefit from a complimentary 1-day upgrade to a 1967 E-Type Jaguar.
