To the land of Oz via Leeds A Leeds-based man and wife and their Sydney-based son have launched a brand new one stop service aimed at encouraging UK workers to move Down Under.

The Nextstepaustralia.com website is a one stop shop for anyone interested in joining the growing level of migration to Australia and features a host of job vacancies, visa consultancy and a range of services aimed at helping any potential émigré.

“It’s a great resource for people looking to find out about what is involved in a move to Australia and contains a lot of advice and tips on the nature of the working and living environment Down Under,” explained Dave Roberts whose son Dominic moved out to New South Wales three years ago.

Dave, who has established the site with wife Joanne, went on: “It’s an idea we have had for a while. We have partnered with many companies in the UK and Australia offering all of the essential services needed for relocation.”

Dominic commented: “A growing number of Brits are opting for a better quality of life abroad and Australia is their number one destination. Around 25,000 people every year are making the switch to the warmer climes and more stable economic environment.

“My own experiences out here have been very formative and it is possible for workers from most sectors to make the shift despite the myths that suggest otherwise,” added 30-year-old Dominic who now runs the Inspire recruitment firm in Sydney.

Over the last five years the number of UK residents opting for a life in Australia has grown by 300% with just over 23,000 making the move in 2006. That stream of emigration looks set to continue with the Australian Government increasing its annual target figure for skilled workers coming in to the country to 102,500.

Amongst the workers needed Down Under are teachers, doctors, accountants, plumbers, nurses, carpenters, dentists and IT managers.
