Sleep under the stars in Brittany

4th June 2008 Print
Just a short way off the south coast sits the haven that is Brittany, surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean and one of France’s most accessible holiday destinations.

With a lower cost of living than the UK, agreeable climate, ambling waterways and miles of unspoilt beaches, Brittany is an excellent choice for a family getaway.

The region is dotted with a variety of outstanding campsites, providing affordable accommodation and a wide range of on and off-site activities. Another excellent way to see Brittany is along its many waterways by barge, taking in the pretty villages and windmills along the way.

Visit this historic region to explore ancient St Malo on foot, take a cruise on the Rance Estuary looking out for forgotten ship wrecks, bird and marine life such as seals, visit the tropical Zoo and mansion at Bourbansais and experience the underwater world by submarine at the St Malo Aquarium. Sample the region’s outstanding traditional Breton cuisine including some of the best fresh seafood in the world.

Enjoy all of this before sleeping under the stars in some of Brittany’s best campsites.
