Expert travel reviews, wherever you go in the world

Travel review site, TheTravelEditor.com, has launched a mobile version of its website. Customers can now take The Travel Editor with them and access expert hotel and restaurant reviews wherever they are in the world. The mobile website is the latest high-tech service by the company’s two founders, Kevin Evans and Nicholas Allen.

“Now you can access expert reviews wherever you are from your mobile phone. We’re the concierge in your pocket,” says co-founder Nicholas Allen. “Say you were in Madrid. You can browse through all of our Madrid restaurant reviews from your mobile and choose one based on recommendations from the experts. In the coming weeks, you’ll also be able to access your Pocket Guide, our personalised itinerary tool, from your phone.”

The company plans to exploit GPS and introduce a mobile ‘find my nearest’ application later this year.

“Our customers have told us time and time again, that they want authoritative and trustworthy travel information at their fingertips while they’re travelling,” says co-founder Kevin Evans. “Guidebooks used to serve that purpose, but people are realising that they’re out of date before they’re printed. The best thing about The Travel Editor is that all of our content is continuously updated by our travel experts. And now customers can take it with them on their mobile phones.”

Evans further elaborates on the mobile web’s value to advertisers: “Our mobile website gives advertisers the new opportunity to keep their brands front of mind while the customer is travelling. That is a tremendously valuable proposition.”
