Seven heavenly sins of luxury travel

28th July 2008 Print
Get ready to be shocked by prices the wealthy are prepared to pay for a holiday. The latest issue of Australian Traveller reveals our most luxurious and expensive holidays.

“We have gone behind the scenes of some of Australia’s best-kept and expensive secrets that only the super rich can afford,” says Australian Traveller editor Greg Barton.

The Luxury issue shows how A-list celebrities spoil themselves when they make a trip down under and exactly how much it costs.

“These are definitely over the top prices that obviously the everyday person cannot afford. It’s just amazing to find out what a lot of money will buy,” Barton explains.

“The fact these products exist also tells you people do spend this on their holidays in Australia,” Barton continues.

The magazine looks at the most luxurious and expensive travel across seven holidaying categories – in a hotel suite, at a beach house, in a private jet, on the water, at the snow, in a car and touring the outback.

“The issue proves that every kind of holiday has its luxuries,” Barton says.
